Well, that was interesting. Thanks for sharing that! They actually had a social services for toons! Amazing! I thought the WB plug at the beginning was pretty shameless, but ok. I can certainly believe that if anything could send a toon to the looney bin, it would be daytime TV, so I liked that part. But I was a bit disappointed with the ending. I would have thought that the cure for Slappy would have been to simply watch some good cartoons, full of gratuitous violence, not just have her snap out of it on her own.

Not the usual amount of violence either, and I wish they would have told us what happened with his parents and why he had to be taken to some other place. I think if they showed a half hour of regular Skippy and Slappy then there'd have been a spinoff.

Odd, I thought Nathan Ruegger was getting a bit too old to do Skippy.

Slightly throughout the series his voice got deeper, but I think it was good because it showed that unlike all cartoon characters outside of their segment Skippy was aging like his aunt had.

Maybe, but you can tell he's pitching his voice higher so Skippy won't sound like a teenager :D

I heard that the producers used a machine to change the pitch of his voice for the later episodes, but not for Wakko's Wish, that's why you can hear the big difference. Doesn't matter, the voice fits and I'm glad they continued using Nathan through all the episodes.

While I'm on the post for Skippy and Slappy cartoons, does anyone know the whole "Toons can't die" thing from the "Bumbie's Mom" episode, well I just watched the funeral episode with Walter Wolf and none of the characters attending reacted like it was an odd thing, any thoughts or opinions on that?

another very good one was when Slappy was trying to take a vacation :)

I think its the only time she was ever defeated in a way if you think about it.

One flew over the cuckoo clock

I'm glad they made a full length episode dedicated to Slappy.
