For those of us that's watched this very long-running series through the years, we have a lot of favorite episodes, I'm sure.

"A Tale of Two Springfields" has always been a favorite for me, not the least for the guest appearance of The Who. 8-) I also like "The Springfield Files", the one where Homer believes he saw an alien, and "The Regina Monologues", the one where they go to England.

Lisa the Vegetarian

I love meat, but I respect what Lisa stood for.

Simpsons Roasting on a Open Fire. Along with being the first episode, it's incrediblely heartwarming and always puts me in the Christmas spirit.

Treehouse of Horror V. Treehouse of Horror episodes are always great, and this one's the best of them all. The funniest segment would be the Shinning, with such classic lines as "You wanna get sued?!", and "No TV and no beer makes Homer, um, something something".

I liked Time and Punishment and Nighmare Cafeteria and the running gag of Willie getting killed

I loved those too! Time and Punishment had a hilarious cameo from Peabody and Sherman, among other things, and Nightmare Cafeteria was the last time they'd actually try to be terrifying. Nowadays, they just do parodies of what's popular at the time and try and fail to replicate Family Guy's shock humor.

Lisa's Pony

Image

Homer gets Lisa a pony. He tries to make up for not getting her a replacement saxophone reed for her recital, missing her recital, and missing every other important events in her life.

It's a little girl's dream to have her own pony and Homer tries everything in his power to keep it. A nice little father/daughter episode

That was a good one. Lisa's relation with her pony was very sweet, and Homer trying to atone for his mistakes is a far cry from what he'd become in later seasons.

Only back in those days, no one knew what a Pegasister was.

Of course, this came before the Brony phenomenon, so Lisa's love of ponies had nothing to do with MLP. I wonder if she'd become one in a later episode, since it seems like a topic Simpsons would satirize hilariously.
