Never saw any of those movies, although I did watch Nostalgia Critic's review of the live action one. Also, I remember an Animaniacs episode where Chicken Boo participates in a table read of Spielberg's The Flintstones, and ends up making "Ba-GAWK!" the punchline for all of the jokes. I wonder if the movie would be funnier if that were the case.

I never liked the movies because they chose the wrong people for the Rubbles.

Seriously, Rick Moranis as Barney? Rosie O'Donnell as Betty?

Rick was too tall and skinny for Barney (I once met a guy who would be the spitting image of Barney: short, fat, blonde, and with a long nose), and Rosie was too fat to be a believable Betty.

That's my main problem with cartoon reboots. They usually cast celebrities as the characters, regardless if they fit or not. At least Rick Moranis sounded like Barney Rubble, although I can't say the same for Rosie O'Donell as Betty.

I never saw it, but it seems harmless. At least they captured the spirit of the show and didn't add unnecessary pop culture references and fart jokes.

Even though I only saw clips of it, I still find it overrated. It successfully captured the charm of the show and wasn't reliant on pop culture references or fart humor. Sadly, WB would also do those live action Yogi Bear and Scooby Doo movies, which exist solely to pander to the lowest common denominator, yet still make money. Also, I just found out that WB will be making an theatrical, all CGI Flintstones movie, as part of the Hanna Barbara universe. Considering that this is the same studio that made Lego Movie, I'm looking forward to it.

I really want to see Hollyrock a baby with the birth of Pebbles and Bam Bam children. I also liked I yabba dabbo doo where Pebbels and Bam Bam get married , the cameo of both William Hanna and Joseph barbera was really sweet

I liked the Flintstones Christmas specials I saw:

The Christmas Carol play movie.
The Christmas episode.
And "A Flintstone Christmas" from 1977.

While I haven't seen them, I'm sure I'll like them. Christmas specials always warm my heart, and get me right into the Christmas spirit.

What I never understood is why, if they're supposed to be in prehistoric times, would they celebrate a religious holiday that would CLEARLY mark them as living in the AD era.

(Same goes for the comic strip "B.C.". When I saw its Christmas special, "A B.C. Christmas", I thought that right after that the strip was going to be renamed "A.D." :P :P :P )

That baffles me as well. Then again, they only focus on the secular elements of it, so it could just be another sign of Bedrock's modern style. After all, this is the same place that has urban businesses, drive in diners, and movie theaters.

Sometimes, you don't ask questions about cartoons. You just enjoy them.

Fortunately, I don't. When you think too much about certain aspects of cartoon episodes, it really hampers your enjoyment of them.
