From the 80s to the 90s, Don has made some of the most memorable animated movies ever. What're your favorites?

So far, the only one I saw was Secrets of Nihm. It was pretty good, but a very loose adaptation of the book, which i read in 4th grade. I'll see the other films as soon as possible.

The Secret of NIMH, An American Tail 1 & 2, and Titan A.E.

Note that in those movies, he did NOT write the script.

In the ones he did, well...

...I've said this before in other forums: as a writer, he makes a very good animator.

Actually, American Tail 2 was not by Don Bluth, but by Amblinmation, founded by Steven Spielberg. Also, what do you mean by " as a writer, he makes a very good animator."?

That annoys me too. It seems that most people think that if a movie's traditionally animated, it must be Disney. Still, it's a forgivable mistake, since Don Bluth used to work for Disney before founding his own studio.

1989 was a wonderful time for movies. All Dogs go to Heaven helped make it wonderful!

Can't wait to go to Heaven and get away from this dreary world. A place of broken hearts and broken dreams.

The same year, we also got The Little Mermaid, which started the Disney Renaissance. Due to the movie success, Don Bluth was forced to make his movies more lighthearted, to the point of being sickenly sweet. One of the movies during that period, The Pebble and the Penguin was bad enough for Don Bluth to disown the movie entirely.

Even though I never saw his later movies, I have a hunch that the Nostalga Critic's reviews of them are going to be way more entertaining. I still wonder if you could make a musical number about eating Skittles.

You know an animated movie is bad when even the director doesn't like it.

I never saw it, but it seems harmless. It may not have been original, but the songs will more than make up for it.
