Appearances can be deceiving. For some reason, her attitude adds to her cuteness.

I always thought that the whole franchise was pointless, precisely because of that ending I came up with. I mean, you KNOW that there will eventually be ONE LAST GENERATION of dinosaurs in the Great Valley, and they will be wiped out in a fiery blaze.

I agree. You can make all the sequels you want, but that won't change the fact that the asteroid's going to hit sometime.

The original is a classic. I've got to agree with everything Injun-Joe said, about the emotion they used to put into movies like this. I love that last song. I'm not sure if I've seen any of the sequels. If I have it was a long time ago, and I have no idea which ones.

Remember when Cartoon Network used to play these movies all the time?

Man, that takes me back. :D

I think if CN showed movies today, it would be the same ol' things every month. Ever notice how Nick at Nite plays The Parent Trap remake every other week?

Land before time isn't the only movie to get that treatment. For some reason, Cartoon Network used to show the Diary of a Wimpy kid movies a lot, almost once every 5 weeks.

For me, when it comes to the sequels, the only two that hold up at all are "The Great Valley Adventure" and "The Mysterious Island". There's a reason why Chomper is the single most remembered and liked element of The Land Before Time sequel blizzard after all. All of the others are varying levels of "bleh". By the time we got to "The Great Longneck Migration" the series was starting to become a little self aware. I just love the way that Cera delivers the line "longnecks save the world" with an eye roll and a weariness that suggests that she's either thinking to herself "this is my life now" or "this silly crap happens so often now, I'm not even affected by it anymore". We finally got a new sequel last year after a nine year absence, so hey, if they keep this going maybe we'll see the return of the space dinos. Or maybe even a crossover with the Dinosaucers! One can dream.

Considering that those were early on, that showed that the sequels started off good, but just got weaker and weaker. At least they were self aware of how stupid it was getting.

The fifth movie was actually decent.

Here's a good song called "Always There". It's about family togetherness.

That was a sweet song! Even when we're afraid, we'll always have someone to comfort us. I remember being afraid of being alone, so the message rings true to me.

Anyone here remember Ali? I sure didn't, until I was recently reminded of her existence. I remember that most people in the fandom that was built around the sequels shipped her and Littlefoot. :? First off, she was bland as dirt, she didn't add anything to the gang that wasn't already there. Secondly, she only appeared in one movie as far as I can remember. Some people who don't like her say that she's just a female clone of Littlefoot. An apt descriptor, though I personally feel that she isn't even that much. The weirdest thing about Ali being shipped with Littlefoot? She's his cousin! Yup yup yup! Most people seem to forget that little detail, and it does make all of those fanfics pretty cringe-tastic. :P As weird as the other two major ships in the fandom are, those being Littlefoot+Cera and Ducky+Petrie, at least there's a large degree of chemistry and connection with them. I could actually see those two relationships happening. Littlefoot and Ali though? Despite the fact that they're the same species, not so much.

I agree. Ali was just a bland character who didn't have a reason to be added in. The fact that you forgot she existed just shows how forgettable she was. Also, I don't understand why Littlefoot and Ali are shipped as well. If you're going to ship a couple, at least make sure they have chemistry.

Fans will pretty much ship anything these days, regardless on whether it's natural or not. I highly doubt Littlefoot would be okay with incest, so the pairing wouldn't work, even if Ali had a personality.
