Along with Hey Arnold, another 90s Nicktoon will be getting a TV movie. Last month, Nick has announced and greenlite for Nick. The announcement coincidentally came on the NickToons brand's 25th birthday. All of the original cast and crew will be returning for this, so it will probably turn out well. I can't wait for it to come out!

I wonder if they'll truly be able to get away with the same kind of comedy that they did back in the day. :)

I highly doubt Nickelodeon would ever let any of this through in their cartoons today. People have gotten so sensitive.

I blame Nick's new corporate style for this. In the old days, Nick pretty much let crew do whatever they wanted. Nowadays, Nick controls the series, risking the creative freedom. Nick set up rules that wound up taming their shows. I doubt the show would have any edge and would feel watered down. It would still be funny, but it would be tamer and try too hard to be hip with kids. Hopefully, Joe Murry will resist Nick's pressure and only tone it down very slightly.

It might work, provided it's nothing like Ren and Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon

I doubt that Sheila will appear. She was a one shot character, so there's a low chance that she'd be in the movie.

Melba Toast is Rocko's one true love anyway.

While Rocko did have a crush on Melba, she was offscreen and didn't have much of a personality. Sheila on the other hand, was practically Rocko's soul mate with a few extra traits added. Because of this, I think that Sheila is Rocko's one true love. To get back on topic, how do you feel the TV movie will turn out?

I've already thrown in my two cents.

I read your previous post from Wednesday and I agree. While they won't add excess raunch and gore like Adult Party Cartoon, they might still pander by referencing memes and using outdated slang. Hopefully Joe Murray will resist peer pressure and only use moder pop culture to parody it. Also, according to a podcast, Joe Murray won't tone anything down, so it will be as edgy as the original.

According to Joe Murray, the TV movie will be about Rocko returning to O-Town after 20 years in space, only to find out that everyone's addicted to technology. With how obsessed we are with our phones and IPads I feel that the message of this is something we all need.

I agree. With how much stupidity happened over the past 20 years, Rocko definitely has a lot to react to. Rocko learning about dank memes, dabbing, and the 2016 election would be a hoot!
