Even though I'm against censorship, at least it pacifies the PC Nazis. It always saddens me to read their complaints and with editing, the complaining stops. Also, in Charline'z letter, she said that she wouldn't show it to her 12 year old nephew or her inner child because of her complaints. That kids in middle school and knows that girls are more than objects with curves that make men crazy. She should show it to him, but remind him that it's not okay to objectify women. That nobody agreed with her emphasized her overreaction. Still, Speberg would agree with her because her "Think of the children mentality would scare him into agreeing. Slappy would say to Charline, "You remind me of a very young Lisa Simpson."

Suprisingly, it hasn't. I think it is because Roger Rabbit was an adult movie so there's no worry of children seeing it. Animaniacs, however was a kids show and Charline's letter complained that a kids show shouldn't have objectification of woman. Her saying that it shouldn't be in the kids area of Netflix was unintentionally hilarious. It would be hilarious seeing Animanaics next to Family Guy and South Park. Also the implications she got (Women are helpless, women should be catcalled, you must look like Hello Nurse for the guys to like you ) reminded me of the Malibu Stacy controversy Lisa started in "Lisa vs Malibu stacy". In the episode, Lisa finally gets her Malibu Stacy doll who says stuff like "Don't ask me! I'm just a girl!", "My name is Malibu Stacy, but you can call me, (wolf whistle SFX)" and "Let's find makeup so the guys will like us." Lisa is so enraged that she goes to the Malibu Stacy company to give them a piece of her mind. When Lisa asks if the sexist drivel Stacy spouts is intentional the tour guide says they're mindfull of such concerns only for her to get catcalled by the rest of the male staff. She goes up to the real life Malibu Stacy and they create a feminist doll called Lion heart Lisa. The company gets back at her by creating Malibu Stacy Plus, the same stereotypical doll but with a new hat! Still, one girl buys Lisa's doll which gives Lisa hope. I bet if Lisa saw Animaniacs, she would go up to the WB animation studio to complain all about it.

Or if some scandalous woman were on Itchy and Scratchy, she would.

But yeah, she and Charlene are alot alike.

I could see that happening. The second Scratchy whistles at the girl, Lisa is yelling "Trigger!" at her stuffed animals and emailing the Itchy and Scratchy creator about her complaints. The only difference between the two is how well they took it. While Charline just wrote a Medium document and went on with life, Lisa was mad about it for days and wouldn't rest untill someone listened to her complaints. Also they both felt all the trouble was worth it when they ended up changing someone's life in their quest. In the document there is a slight inconsistency. She says that she was affected by the show more than most, yet begs every Netfix user not to show it to kids. Just because you got messed up royally by it doesn't mean the rest of the world will! Millions of parents have streamed it already and have turned out fine. I watched Animaniacs by myself when I was 11 and didn't turn into a catcalling pervert. At least she didn't heap all the blame on Animaniacs like she could've done. She mentioned how her father objectified women and even let her watch porn videos which also contributed to her sex addiction. If she had a loving dad that taught her that womon aren't objects I think the show wouldn't affect her.

Good point. I say just push the sex content and enjoy the show for what it is, rather than turning it into some federal case.

I don't think Charline would make a federal case about it. If Spielberg was aware of the implications of Hello Nurse, but approved her anyway, Charline would be justified if she did. Spielberg just slapped his name on the show and let the writers do whatever they want. I don't think she should've targeted him, since he merely allowed it. She should be targeting Tom Reugger, who probably came up with the running gag. While I have nothing against him, he is more to blame than Spielberg. Another thing that bugged me is when she said that the show made her think that objectifying women was normal. The Warners were never normal, so why would she think that they were? Also, the Warners were locked up in the 30s, before the feminist movement, so they have no idea that women need respect. Also, Hello nurse never tolerated catcalling. She was just too confused by it to care about it. Just because she doesn't tell off the Warners every time they catcall her doesn't mean she tolerates it. If the show was made today, Hello nurse would either be on a "well earned vacation" or have the ogling aspect downplayed to non-existence and her competence played up.
