It's just the original except with live action, clearing up a few minor plot holes, and making Lefou gay. Since the animation was one of the best parts of the original, it drags it down a bit, but is still decent.

So basically what I was expecting. Why do I get the feeling that, despite it's record opening day ticket sales, people will still be watching the animated original fifty years from now while this live action version will be all but forgotten? Already, no one is talking about the live action Maleficent anymore.

I don't think anyone's talking about the remakes of Jungle Book and Pete's Dragon either. We already have the original, so people would rather watch the original rather than an live action CGI remake.

Someone must've liked The Jungle Book movie from last year. It made $966.6 million in the Box Office.

I bet it was the people who have a lot of nostalgia for the original. Still, no one's talking about it, so it wasn't that big of a success. I saw it, and thought it was okay, but nothing to write home about. I'm ecspecially dreading the Lion King remake. I'm just so used to the animated version that seeing photorealistic CGI animals would be uncanny.

I did enjoyed it my dad not so much what I did like they expanding some roles like the enchantress who casts the spell on the prince ad some objects

I enjoyed the live action Jungle Book and cinderella not so much Maleficent however the two films are different enough from the orginals , Jungle book has got a very different ending

Can you really call it a live-action remake, though? 99.9% of it was all CGI.

I would, but only because it has still had some live acton to it. Even the CGI was more of special effects than animation.

Did you by any chance happen to catch it on TCM? Because if so, me too! ;)
