There's not much I can say about the hippos except that their theme song is catchy.

But must they be so lovey-dovey all the time?!

Just like that, Mindy & Buttons were in.

I have heard that story before but... does anyone know what other characters were disapproved that day? Because let me tell you that none of them could have possibly been worse than that strange duo.

I don't know, but I thought we were talking about Katie Ka-Boom and the Hippos.

The weird part is that someone actually sat there and designed those characters, hoping that they would be included on the show... I haven't even met a fan of those two yet.

Guys, if you want to continue this discussion on Buttons and Mindy, please start a thread on it. You're kind of going off-topic here.

The Hip Hippos were not that interesting although they had great cameos. Dispite that, the Kids Wb shorts were hilarious. Katie Kaboom had potential, but they didn't try anything funny with it. The only enjoyable one was the crossover with Chicken Boo.

I seem to remember the female hippo being some kind of Drama Queen.

Despite all my issues with them, I gotta admit the Hippos' parody of "American Gladiators" was hilarious.

Katie wasn't even in "Dot: The Macademia Nut" -and she had the fastest cameo ever on "Wakko's Wish"-... shows how much they cared about her.

It's funny how the hippos got a bunch of cartoons in the later seasons after we didn't see them for quite some time. That was a good one, though. Reminds me of a Pinky and the Brain episode.
Brain: What did you do today, Pinky?
Pinky: Um...I don't remember.
Brain: Now I know how American Gladiators stays on the air.

That's a good point, considering the fact that several one-shot characters did show up in that one. In all fairness though (in my opinion) characters like Pip Pumphandle and Wally Llama contributed more to the show than she did.

Come to think of it, was Mr. Director in there? I can't remember. If not, he should have been.

The other segments included Boss Beaver and Doyle, a amoeba soap opera called As the Petri dish turns, the flea family from Tiny toons, Nipsy and Russell, a pair of conniving racoons, and Clyde and Egghead Jr. Boss beaver and Doyle was about Boss Beaver trying to build a dam but is foiled by his dim witted assistant Doyle. Clyde and Egg head Jr. was about Clyde the robot and Egghead from those Foghorm Leghorn cartoons.

I hope I never have a daughter as ill-tempered as KK-B.

Don't worry, you won't. Even if she might be a little moody, at least she won't turn into a rampaging monster every day.

I hope not. There's something abnormal about teenage girls being extremely emotional.

I think it has something to do with puberty. At the end of each segment Katie's parents reassure themselves, "It's only a phase. She'll grow out of it."
