Obviously, they're not going to bring back the series, so this is just wishful thinking and a bit of fantasizing. But what would you like to have seen them do? Got any good ideas that would have been fun, or might even make for good fan fic or artwork?

Personally, and I just thought of this one last night, actually, I'd like to see the Warners sing "How Much Is That Doggy In The Window?" I've got a special attachment to this song because we used to sing it as kids, my sister and I doing the song, and my little brother being the dog.

Quote:
Spoiler:
How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
The one with the waggley tail
How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
I do hope that doggie's for sale

I must take a trip to California
And leave my poor sweetheart alone
If he has a dog, he won't be lonesome
And the doggie will have a good home

How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
The one with the waggley tail
How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
I do hope that doggie's for sale

I read in the paper there are robbers (roof! roof!)
With flashlights that shine in the dark
My love needs a doggie to protect him
And scare them away with one bark

(arf!)

I don't want a bunny or a kitty
I don't want a parrot that talks
I don't want a bowl of little fishies
He can't take a goldfish for a walk

How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
The one with the waggley tail
How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
I do hope that doggie's for sale
I do hope that doggie's for sale

They already kind of look like dogs, so it's not much of a stretch. I think Wakko would make a good doggy in a pet shop window for the song while Yakko and Dot would sing it, Wakko doing the "Arf! Arf!" parts at the correct times.

It would be pretty simple, but they could give it an Animaniacs flair by having Dot sing the verse about the robbers, who could look like the Home Alone guys, and her love would of course be Mel Gibson, who would look quite confused through the whole thing.

Yakko would sing the verse about leaving his sweetheart, Hello Nurse, and would give her Wakko to keep her from being alone, but then think better of it when it became clear that Wakko was much too happy about it.

Yakko: "Eehhh... I don't think so."
Wakko: (Whimpers.)

I honestly don't remember the third verse, because I guess we never sang that one, but they could pull various characters from other shows to fill the spots, such as Buster and Rita for the bunny and kitty, both getting uncerimoniously tossed aside. Perhaps some kind of Iago rip-off for the parrot, doing a classic Gilbert Gottfried scream as they dispose of him. Not sure about the fish. Maybe they could change the animal, like a "pair of smelly hippos" or something.

Now that's an amusing idea. Though if I place Wakko right, he'd likely burp before bark... and I can just see his siblings reactions to it while continuing their efforts to sing and keep the sketch going; Yakko wincing and Dot cringing in disgust.

Now that would scare away the robbers. ;)

Or they could do it with Rita and Runt, perhaps Buttons.

At the time I thought Animaniacs would do a parody of Aladdin. But they ended up doing Beauty & the Beast & it was sooooo good! the Pocahontas parody was horrible though...

I used to have a notebook where I wrote down ideas that I had, and one of them was for an Aladdin parody. It wasn't a whole cartoon, but just one of their funny returns to the watertower at the end of a show. Yakko would have been Aladdin, Dot Jasmine, and Wakko would be Apu. They'd run up to the tower with Ralph in hot pursuit to find a carpet on the ground, hop on, and it would start flying around up towards the tower, but making detours all over the lot to give them enough time to sing a short song.

Dot: "A whole new gag! A whole new joke I never knew! But now from way up here, it's crystal clear, I'm scared of heights and I think I'm gonna puke! Every turn makes it worse. Don't think I'll make it through the next verse."

There may have been more, but I can't find that notebook at the moment. After I wrote that down, I was somewhat surprised and disappointed when they actually did a short flying carpet bit back up to the tower, but made no attempt at an Aladdin parody. It would have been such a good opportunity.

Technically there was a little bit of an Aladdin parody on the show. during the "schloscar" song in the Pocahontas parody there was a clip of Dot dressed as Jasmine on a carpet & Ralph as the genie. that was it.

I used to come up with tons of ideas for the show. then give it time & something very similar or along the same lines but watered down would happen! some of it was a stretch in my eyes, but enough to get my attention. I did a Animaniacs version of the star Wars game on my graphing calculator & the show did a Star Wars parody. I wrote an Independence Day parody & there was a brief clip of the tower being blown up a la Independence Day. The closest was when I came up with a "new" warner & called it a cousin since all the fanfics I saw made the new warner a new sibling. then the next week I get my Animaniacs comic in the mail & the cover reads "The 4th Warner!!!" & inside Yakko's introducing scratchy to their cousin! granted mine was a girl & their's looked like Wakko in a beard. & the amount of time it takes to create a cartoon or comic proves that they didn't "steal" my ideas as I was prone to think as a kid, but it got interesting there for a while...

What if the Klopman Diamond gag from Garfield and Friends was added?

How about an episode (maybe 30-90 min) of a COHERENT storyline that includes ALL the scenes from "Previously in Animaniacs"? Or at least, as coherent as a Monty Python's Flying Circus episode can get. That would be a hoot!

What was "Previously in Animaniacs"? Was that from an episode I haven't seen yet? And while I have seen some Monty Python, I'm definitely not all that familiar with it. I think that style of Brittish humor might be fun for an episode, though. You'd have to leave out some of the racier bits, of course.

I used to watch Garfield and Friends because I was a huge Garfield fan, but I don't remember it too well. How did that gag go?

It was sort of a gag "recap" for their season premiere. Naturally, the first thing you think is "Wait, did I miss the first part of a two-part episode?"
But then as the "clips" continue you see that they don't make any sense.

Now that's just cruel! ;) I can just see a bunch of fans sitting around their televisions, excited that the first new episode of the season airs that day, and then they get something that looks like the second half of a two parter. I would have been panicked! :)

It was used a lot throughout the series. A certain character would talk about the diamond, or the diamond would appear on the show. For example, in the episode, "Best of Breed," Nermal is required to polish the Klopman Diamond as part of the obedience event in a cat show.

It was crueler than that: it wasn't just the 1st episode of the new season, but the 1st episode after the move from Fox to Kids' WB! & Kids' WB was changing their schedule every other minute if I recall. I was freaking for a while there watching it live - mostly because my VHS tape ran out while recording the last day on Fox so I had some reason to believe I missed something...

Plus all the pics were fan fic fodder - Wakko in the hospital, globe trotting adventure with Yakko - I forget what Dot did... but all stuff to make you yell at the screen "WHAT DID I MISS?!?!?!?!"

It wasn't until the 4th or 5th "Oh... my... BOOM!!!" that I finally got that it was a joke...

Oh... my.... BOOM!!!!!! my dad said that bit was a parody of a movie, but he didn't know which one.
